What Is Pattern Recognition And Where To Follow The Grand Slam Action June 05, 2008 |
| Hi, I hope you're enjoying the French Open clay court grinding as much as I do. In fact, I've been playing lots of tennis lately with my friends here in Slovenia so it's nice to be "back" on clay courts again...
-------------------------------- a) You may know which tactic to use if your opponent plays a certain tactic against you, but that doesn't really help if you don't recognize it during play. So the first thing you need is pattern recognition: Pattern Recognition - The Foundation Of Tennis Tactics
-------------------------------- I got an interesting question from a reader this week. He is a tennis coach and wanted to know to how to be successful in tennis from a business point of view. The problem with coaching is of course that you are typically paid per hour and that there is a limit of how many hours per day you can work giving quality lessons. But there is a solution... Can A Tennis Coach Succeed In Business?
--------------------------- The Roland Garros Grand Slam tournament is still going on and Wimbledon will start in a few weeks so I've found some sites where you can follow the action. Bob Larson's Tennis News site is updated regularly with the latest results and happenings on the ATP and WTA tour. There's also a section (separate website) for Junior Tennis News. Another option is the Tennis Channel which offers much more video content. (interviews, highlights and TV subscribtions) They also have the video instruction section. And if you're more interested in improving your game than watching the pros battle it out, check Lee Couillard's Tennis Pod Pro Videos with tons of drills and interesting video instruction. Enjoy the rest of the French Open and I'll talk to you before the Wimbledon starts! Best, Tomaz
