An Interesting Solution To Tennis Elbow Problems
November 05, 2008
Hi,

TennisMindGame.com is celebrating its 3rd birthday tomorrow. I registered the domain on the 6th of November 2005 and after 3 years this website receives over 1000 visitors per day and earns a nice additional income.

In case you've never read my story or just want to check the updates to it, follow this link. You'll find more info on that page and if you have some questions about building a website, just reply to this email and I'll be happy to help.

1. What's new?

I've had a unique opportunity to work with an adult who wanted to learn tennis with his non-dominant hand. Mr. Vejen Emilov contacted me in September and spent 2 weeks in Slovenia learning to play tennis with his left hand.

The reason: Vejen developed tennis elbow and his doctor suggested that he doesn't play for at least 1 month and that it's very likely that the pain will return.

If you have tennis elbow problems you may want to check how Vejen managed to play with his non-dominant hand after only 1 month of practice!

a) When I do mental training with tennis players here in Slovenia, I often ask them these two questions:

"Let's say you rally from the baseline and get a short ball. You move to the ball and hit a winner into the corner. Can you do this every time without a mistake?"

The usual answer is no.

"Why not?"

And this is where juniors and even older players get stuck. They are thinking and twisting their faces and cannot come up with the most logical answer: "Because tennis is too difficult for a human to be perfect every time."

It's that simple. The game of tennis is very demanding and you can read more about that in this post, where you'll find links to three interesting scientific studies involving tennis:

b) Pete has asked me to give him some advice regarding ball machines and how to best use them. You can find our Q&A here:
