Start Winning Tennis Matches When In The Lead!
March 20, 2009
Hi,

I've been testing Tennistv.com lately (watching the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells) and it's a great way to stay in touch with all the latest on ATP and WTA. There isn't much tennis here on TV and even if it is, they don't show interviews or highlights from different matches.

The Tennistv website gives you all that for free and of course you can sign up to watch matches live. I've been in touch with Matthew Prendergast from Tennistv and he told me that the matches will soon be downloadable too.

So, thanks to the amazing technology of Internet, we can now watch tennis anywhere at any time as long as we have a good internet connection. The Indian Wells match ups are great: Djokovic vs. Roddick, Nadal vs Del Potro and Federer vs Murray.

The Miami tournament next week is again having all the top players in the draw and if you don't want to miss the action, sign up for Tennistv.com where you can watch matches live for a very affordable price.

1. What's new?

a) Have you ever been well in the lead and then lost it? Funny question, right? ;) We've all been there, we've all lost the lead and felt bad about it.

Well, there's good news and bad news; the good news is that you can start winning more situations when you're in the lead. Check the following article on how to do that and what the bad news are.

#1 Reason for Not Winning When in the Lead

b) If lefties are making your tennis life difficult, you're not alone. There are some good tips by Julian and Walter helping out a player who is having problems with a Nadal play-a-like! ;)

If you have some good tips on how to deal with lefties, share them too!

A player with a western grip on the forehand is having problems with fast balls and hitting the forehand on the run. While there are some tips on how to tackle this problem, I believe that solving it in the long term cannot be done by instruction only.

I have some homework for you this week. ;) Read the article about Losing the Lead mentioned above and then watch the matches at Indian Wells and later in Miami and try to notice how many times the pros lose a lead.

See how they lose a lead in a game (when 40:0 or 40:15 up), how they lose a lead in games (4:1 or 5:2 up) and how they lose the match after winning the first set.

Let me know what you notice and whether this in any way changes your expectations and your results in the matches you played.

Best, Tomaz
