Roger Federer Has Finally Made It - My Analysis Of The Final And Other Matches
June 07, 2009
Hi,

It was great to watch Roger Federer win his first French Open title today. I didn't see this match live but I was in Paris for one week where I had the privilege of watching live the greatest player of all times.

I've been blogging all time from Roland Garros when I was there and also from home, so there are no new articles on the main site.

There are a couple of questions on the tennismindgame.com though and one answer that I shared that I believe is very important.

1. Tennis Thoughts Blog
--------------------------------

Watching top players live is a fantastic experience and I hope you can visit a Grand Slam at some point. (If you haven't done that yet...)

The key differences compared to watching tennis on TV are the sounds of the shots, which tell you exactly how the player has hit the ball and seeing the ball trajectory in 3 dimensions.

The Roland Garros is great to watch but very crowded. ;)

Anyway, here are my thoughts on a fantastic achievement of Roger Federer:

Roger's match against Juan Martin Del Potro:

There are many other posts on topic of Roland Garros and you can find them in the category Roland Garros 2009 on the blog:

To find all of them, scroll to the bottom of that page and click "Previous Entries"...

2. What's new?
--------------------------------

a) Paul posted his doubts and fears about disappointing himself if he loses the match. It's a common belief and I've shared my thoughts on this topic and how we often have unrealistic expectations that continually cause pain if we give them power and stick to them...

Afraid of losing rankings and ...

b) Scott is looking for tips for increasing his serve speed. I shared mine so feel free to add your best tips too!

c) And another tennis player feels pressure for USTA tennis doubles but not so much for singles. Any help would be welcome...

---------------------------

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on Roger Federer's win, Kuznetsova win and Nadal's loss at the French Open. Just use the comment section at the blog!

See you in two weeks with more tennis mental articles on the main site...

Best, Tomaz
