Becoming a junkballer

Hey, I'm a 15 year old kid who just started playing tennis 2 weeks ago. I've always known about the game, but this is the first time that I've put a racket to the ball.

I play forehanded on both sides, but I do mix in backhands from both sides as well (ambidextrious).

I also want to model my game after Fabrice Santoro and use more cerebral tactics to win matches. While many sites and coaches talk about how to beat a junkballer they dont talk about how to become one. I have two questions

1. Any tips for helping out an ambidextrious player...

2. How can I become a junkballer (preferably a spinmaster who can mix different amounts of sidespin to my forehand, backhand, lob, and drop shots.

If you want to be a spin-meister then you need to develop "feel" for all the different spins.

I assume that you are asking about just ground strokes. To practice spin on ground strokes the best way would be to hit against a wall. Since you are hitting lightly but with heavy spin it should become easy to keep hitting repeatedly.

For heavy top-spin you need to brush up against the ball from low to high fast.

For heavy under-spin you need to brush down on the ball from high to low fast.

Side-spin is made by brushing left-right to make it curve to the left, right-left to make it curve to the right.

you can even practice "mixing-up" any combination of these spins (left-side spin and under spin or change heavy spin to light spin).
