I feel wonderful after finding your site on Google.
I am an intermediate level player, and recently moved to work on the field (outside the city). For the record, I lived in South America and live now in Central America. Greetings from here.
There are 2 tennis courts here, not used regularly. I started to regain my tennis practice at noon and, after 30 years of playing, this is the first time I'm doing it daily.
So, there comes the know-it-all from the city, against recreational players who can't even hold the racquet properly, and worst for me: don't know the game protocol. I even started giving tips.
In about 3 months, the tennis club became crowded and the necessity for a tournament was there. I figured out that it was an easy trophy (my first, I may say, after coming from a serious tennis club where my rewards were experience...).
Yesterday I lost 6-0 to a guy who answers every ball, not much technique, but managed easily to destroyed me. We play regularly and are always even on scores, but the thing was mental and I understood now the many factors involved.
Thank you for all your shared experiences, lessons, advises. I am sure I will catch up to try to finish the tournament with my head held high.
Best regards and have a wonderful 2010.
Luis
