Forehands and Backhands

by M.G
(Philippines)

I'm sixteen and I just started tennis this summer. And I've had like... 8 sessions already. I have no background whatsoever.

My problem is my forehand and backhand swing. It always goes to the other direction. The shot should be directed in front, but my forehand goes to my extreme left.

Sometimes to the other court...

Same problem with my backhand. But I'm good at smashing and volleying and stuff.

Hi M.G.,

I suggest you take a good look at the article about the tennis technique.

Read carefully and you'll understand how to properly hit the ball and why your forehands and backhands go in the direction of the follow-through.
