How can I hit the ball DEEPER in the oppenent's court?

It seems that whoever I play takes advantage of my short strokes that land in the service box or a little longer and that put me in a very disadvantageous position where they can just finish the point right there.

I usually play from a couple of feel behind the baseline and don't feel comfortable to stand on the baseline and rally from there.

Or if I DO rally from the baseline I will subconsciously revert back 2 to 3 feet behind.

How can I hit the ball DEEPER in the opponent's court?

Thanks.

hit deeper

Hi,

There are several ways to do that:

1. hit harder (more rackethead speed)
2. hit higher (path of rackethead steeper)
3. hit with lesser spin (combination of the above)
4. stand closer to the baseline when you hit

Good luck

Look at the P.A.S principles video

path of racket head
angle of racket head
speed of racket head

for all questions about technique

Good luck

hit earlier

are your opponents hitting w lots of topsin?
if so, you should adjust your grip to hit lots of topspin back but very importantly - you must hit their ball early , in front of you.

This will cause your ball to go back w lots of topspin. if you hit in front of you the ball should go deep before being pulled down. if you hit late it will drop in short on their side, still w lots of spin but if they are a topspin player they will do what i recommend and put away an angle
