Checking your ball toss would be a good start

Hi there,

It's really difficult to assess what is leading to the results you describe without seeing you. But If your serve ALWAYS lands between the base line and service line your toss is probably too low and way too much in front of you.

Practice tossing higher (about your arm's and racket's length when fully extended skyward) and more around your 1 o'clock area if you're right handed (imagine yourself being the center of a clock) and keep the toss at about 1 foot or your arm's length away from your body. Meaning that if you didn't hit the ball after your toss and allowed it to bounce, it should hit the ground at about 1 foot inside the court.

Lastly, try "hitting up" on the ball with full arm extended at or near the ball's highest point. Practice, practice, practice... Don't forget that a good serve is the result of many coordinated and simultaneous movements that will require time and patience to learn.
