Mini Touch Game

by Bond T. Minard
(Oregon, USA)

Two players play out a point in the services boxes across the net from each other.

The point starts by a player dropping the ball off the net, the receiving player lets the ball bounce but from there on the ball cannot touch the ground and each player may only hit the ball in an upward trajectory.

You win a point by getting the ball to bounce in your opponents service box. Play to 7.

Focuses on touch, movement, finesse, strategy and placement.

Good drill, thanks for the submission!

We sometimes play the game, that starts the same, but the ball CAN bounce. So we basically play mini tennis with a serve from top of the net.

Of course, no hard hitting especially on volleys or overheads.

There is one variation though - no volleys. This is best for those who are not good at moving forward - backward.
