My Game And The Joy Of Tennis Are Back!

by Barbara Barrios de Clare
(Monterrey, Mexico)

I started playing tennis when I was 7 years old and left when I was 17 years old. I did not want to leave this beautiful sport but my parents said it was time to study seriously. I finished college, even a Master Degree but I was sad, painting and tennis were my hobbies. I continued playing socially every now and then until now.

I had my last baby, I joined another club, lost 23 kg and went back to the tennis court being 43 years old. I had all the determination, money and time to invest in my lost hobby. I started taking private classes and tennis clinics and by the second month of playing at least 7 hours a week I got back my game.

My body has a memory and I am capable of playing now almost as I used to. Not all the shots and all the time and with the strength I used to play with but slowly more and more everyday.

Today I have been asked to play "Interclubs" which means I represent my club vs. others locally. For me is an honor, since I am only 3 months old in the tennis courts of my club.

I wanted to play so badly and win so many games to make up for the ones I did not have the chance when I was young that I have won every Single game in the Tournament so far. When concentrated, I do not to give away one single point.

I go also into the grand slams locally with some fear for the unknown but I am moving forward slowly with better scores each day.

i started my tennis at the age of 8 my uncle was my coach he took me to the tennis court and work very hard on my game i won lots of under 14 and under 18 tournaments and one time i was No.4 of my country (Pakistan)i played couple of Davis Cup for my country and i also represent pakistan in Asian Games in china 1990.but unfortunately i left my tennis very early i became fed up of tennis i dont want to play tennis anymore i dont know why but i quit.i started my buisness but i failed.i did couple of office work job but my mind did not accepted all that work.

after 9 years quitting tennis, i am back in tennis (as a tennis coach)and now i feel much better and enjoying relax life.

Now i want to be in tennis for long long time.Ilove this game and i will not repeat my mistake again.

Go-on girl or should i say lady. I started playing tnniis when I was 12 or 13 i'm not sure and i changed and played soccer. but the problem I was playing soccer becouese my friends were into it and i noticed that this should be about me. then quit soccer and got back to tennis 2 years ago and guess what now i'm playing number 3 in my varsity team, all in all i shoul be playing number1 if i didnt quit but nevertheless I'm getting stronger every training.
