Playing a "better" player

How should i go about playing a guy who beat my pro level coach. I can get to break points on my own coaches serve (practice games), but yet to break him.

Strategies?

My strengths- speed, footwork (i'm very fast around the court, like a bunny), 2bh fairly solid fh can be a weapon, can put away short balls, volleys... meh o.k., topspin and baseline play are my fav.

Serve is weak (well crap really) but i'm going to work on it b4 i play him (may have to play him in about 2 months)

I'm also going to do a lot of conditioning etc. and play 2 1/2 hrs a week with coach (privately)

I was thinking i should find out his biggest weakness, play like lleyton and just keep the ball relatively deep maybe a lot of kick up from my fh to his bh and try to weather the storm.

Also for sure i'll pounce on any short ball but that probably wont be very often that i get one.

I'll go over this with my coach but do you have any suggestions?

LoL pump my self with HGH maybe (JK)? avoid playing him for longer?

wow.... Your description of yourself is very interesting because that is similar to me... Im a baseline player, my forehand is all topspin my backhand, when warmed up, can be brutal my volleys are fair, BUT, i'm not fast around the court and i don't like going to the net but my serve is fast and goes where i want it to go... When i play a better player, all i do is work on hitting it where he is not... Try different strategies... ( i know what you're thinking, i've heard this before and tried it) well if u work on it rather than quitting, u would be surprised... Ive lost multiple times to my coach because he places it SOOOOO well, but over time i started placing the ball rather than power and i................. still cant beat him but get closer and closer... good luck
