Playing Against Bigger, Better Opponents

I was recently playing in a tournament, and I lost my first match. I was put into the consolation tournament, and I won my next few matches.

Anyhow, in the semis of the consolation tournament, I played a kid who was big and had the most powerful shots I'd ever seen.

I had to stand 10 feet behind the baseline just to return the serve. I ended up losing - 3,6/3,6.

Please help me to win against people like this!

More Experience
by: Nick

The easy answer would be to play more tournaments and hope you get a chance to play people like him.

If you really want to get experience against someone that is larger and hits harder then you, then maybe you could opt to go to the next age division and play older opponents.

Although, your probably not dominating in your age group if you played a consolation tournament. As a result of this you will lose a lot more matches, be prepared for this.

A better solution would be to practice against older more experienced opponents. If you have a clinics that you go to, ask to be moved to a better group (if there is one). There probably are other experienced tennis players in your area, ask them if they want to practice with you.

Just some suggestions.
