This creative drill is designed to break some routine (boredom) that can occur when practicing the 2nd volley.
For 5-10 years of age, beginner to adv. beginner:
Create using tennis balls the letter F inside the deuce service box and the letter B inside the ad service box (can make one letter at a time).
Position student on the center service line and feed about 15 balls (just forehand side). The objective to try and hit the balls which create the letter on the court.
Variations:
Use backhand volley and aim for the letter B.
Start on the center service line and move to the right(3-4 feet) every 3-5 balls, practicing angle. The target remains the same.
This is a volley drill that has the addition of a FIGURE on the court, that the student create. The figure can be a high number(100), favourite number or shape, but shouldn't take too much time to make.
