The Little Power In Me!

by Dainese
(Washington D.C.)

It was the tennis match that ment the most to me.

I had already made up in my mind there was no way I was going to lose.

Looking at my opponet gave me great fear of her height, her looks and how determined she was; I knew I might be in for a hard match.

The match has not started yet and we were just warming up with full concentration and I could already see how good of a tennis player she was - my confidence was draining.

One minute after the warm up we started the game and I already had my head hanging down thinking; what was I suppose to do?

I knew I had to fight back, I will not lose - and with the little power inside the little girl I thought I came out an unbeatable tennis player that grew like wild weeds in the ground.

My confidence rose back like it never went down!

And soon the score was 6-3 my way; I won!

I did it! And I did it with the little power in me!

What went through your mind?
by: Eitan

Hi Dainese,

Your experience is definitely an example to us all who face these situations in tennis with mixed outcomes. However my curiosity was not satisfied by your blog because I would have liked to know what went through your mind to rise to the challenge and how you put it into practice. This is a pretty common situation and it would be great to know the details of your mental process and game tactics that went with it. Of course this can only be done in broad terms as every situation is different--but the principle behind it is not!

Good luck and keep wielding your 'little' power.
